Name displays incorrectly

Windows Messenger: My family tells me that my name
appears incorrectly in their list of Contacts. I've
signed into my account, selected Tools-Options and
entered my name correctly in the block under "Type your
name as you want other users to see it". Have I missed a
step?

Greetings John,

If you've changed your display name where you indicated, then it should show up as that name
for all your contacts. What are they seeing?

The contacts are seeing "John" vice my last name,comma,
first name.
