Unable to create a new dialup connection
I'm running Windows XP Home edition. When I go to START, SETTINGS, NETWORK
CONNECTIONS-- NEW CONNECTION WIZARD-- CONNECT TO THE INTERNET-- SET UP MY CONNECTION MANUALLY, the first two options, which include the option to CONNECT USING A DIAL-UP MODEM, are unavailable. Also, when I go to the Control Panel and select Phone and Modem Options, I get a message that says: "Phone and Modem Control Panel can not be opened." Does anyone have clue what could be causing this and how I can create a new dialup connection. I've tested the modem through Device Manager and it says it is working properly. I do have a network card going to a cable modem as well. |

This is the usual cause: "Error 711: Cannot Load Remote Access Service Connection Manager" You Cannot Create a Network Connection After You Restore Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;329441 -- Best Regards, Ron Lowe MS-MVP Windows Networking |
