Default new RAM not recognized...

Worse case scenario, is that there is something wrong
with your system board. Try putting a known useable RAM
into the slot and see if it's recognized. If it is, then
the RAM is probably incompatible. If not, you may need
to send the computer in for service. I just had my whole
system board replaced to correct the same problem...
Luckily it was warranty work.

I have a Dell Dimension (L 500r) system w/ a PIII / 256
RAM.
I purchased RAM online (via Kahlon.com) & ordered what
was "supposed to be" correctly configured RAM for my
exact PC, so I could upgrade to 512.
The 2 new 256 RAM cards weren't recognized by my PC @

all.
I've installed RAM before on this system w/ NO problems
whatsoever.

Is there ANYthing more to try?
OR does it sound like this RAM is simply uncompatible??
.
