Thank you for the come back. However, I don't have any problem, just
trying to find some answers. Why would I need a problem to find the
answers to a simple question I am sure some "MVP" would know?

You don't need a problem; it's just that these tech support groups are
normally used for just that - tech support to help solve a problem. You
asked a broad question that could easily be answered by a Google
search; therefore I wondered if you were having a problem with
partitioning that you needed to solve.

Since you aren't having a problem, I'll sign off this thread now.

doing a Google search or trying to use the MS Knowledge base provided
no help. There for I thought for sure someone in this NG would have
the answer. Guess I will try the General NG..
Thank you for your time anyway.

To answer your questions without getting too technical is
difficult, but has been handled quite well by the late Alex Nichol in

Bruce,
Thank you for those links, it was just what I was hunting for. For
your information, the one link to the Technet
(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tre...p/filesyst.asp)
came back with a error 404, file not found.
Anyway, thanks again.

I hate when they rearrange the TechNet site. Try this one:

Click on Start, Help and support, enter "Partition", Pick "Choosing
between NTFS, FAT, and FAT32", Read answer.
