Start Menu highlight driving me NUTS!!!
I just installed a new mobo, clean install Win 7, and everything is running
fine except the Start Menu is arbitrarily highlighting. I've tried the easy way (Start MenuCustomize)), tweaks, hacks, begging and pleading, and it keeps coming back. There's no logic to it--it's highlighting Paint, Windows Explorer, Notepad, etc. etc. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can turn this OFF permanently? |

Right-click on Start orb, select Properties, Start Menu tab, Customize button Is the "Highlight newly installed programs" option enabled? Since you just did a fresh install of Win7, maybe even Paint and Notepad are considered newly installed programs. |

Opened "All Users," deleted a new program via the Start Menu, rebooted, and it's gone. That should not have worked. |
