Deploying modified settings
I have been unable to find any information what so ever on this topic and
was hoping someone might be able to help. We are trying to a Xerox MFP a network printer via IP port removing the need for a dedicated print server. I've built the group policy that installs the xero universal print driver, creates the port, and add the printer to the port. The problem is it turns out there are some settings in including the printing of banner pages I would like to have per-disabled as part of the deployment, rather then telling 500+ have to do it evertime they get on a new computer. What I am trying to find out is within a printer's properties if you click Printing Preferences and then begin making changes where is that information stored since it is profile specific. In our case I was able to find that if I saved changes it would appear in the registry, but I could not find: A) where it keeps the default settings b)how to make sure my saved settings where saved. |

I resolved the issue. It turned to be an issue that you have the ability to
save configuration settings changed in the xerox printer properties but if you copy that file into the driver despite being instructed to then I found the install wouldn't work. Once I went back to black config file everything worked fine. "Cameron Shaw" wrote in message ...
