Default PERFORMANCE

I would run defrag, even if XP tells you it does not need
to be done. Run scandisk. ALso, are all of your MS
Security updated and patches up to date? Have you run a
virus scanner on the system? All of the these can affect
performance.

and the defrag indicates it does not need to be done.
