Default Pending requests

In Windows Liveâ„¢ Messenger (Version 8 and up) shows "Pending requests". When
clicking on that link, a new dialog titled "Microsoft Internet Explorer"
opens with a message: "Internet Explorer cannot download ..."

That results in Pending Requests not being shown:

By using Firefox and logging into Windows Liveâ„¢ Spaces, Pending requests
become available:

Now please forget about the buggy procedure from above. It is MSIE and
probably will never work on all systems as intended. My question is how is it
possible to "stop receiving e-mail requests for your contact information and
e-mail notifications of new messages on your space."

Clicking on Options and clicking Communication preferences cannot be found?
Am I not seeing it, or is the help file different from the actual current
setup?

Thanks for your time.

Default Pending requests

Hello,

* I don't know if it helps you and gets to your point, but in such a case, I'd always try right-clicking the contacts in WL Messenger and uncheck "Receive contact updates".
* When I'm on my Space at spaces.live.com, I sign in, click my name there and I'm brought to the options page, and there's a link to "Communication" (or so), and I can choose very fine by whom I want to receive requests.

Hope I could help you a little.

Greetings,
