Running a DOS program under XP and printing is delayed

Also, if the DOS program does not "Close" the LPT1 port, XP assumes there is more print to come, so the printing can't start until such a program is terminated. You might try selecting "Print directly to the printer" in the printer's Properties, Advanced page, but I suspect this won't make much difference. -- Bruce Sanderson MVP It is perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
