Default Printing from Dos Program

Running a DOS program under XP and printing is delayed
until exiting program - any ideas to fix?

See http://support.microsoft.com/default...n-us%3b101850.

Also, if the DOS program does not "Close" the LPT1 port, XP assumes there is
more print to come, so the printing can't start until such a program is
terminated.

You might try selecting "Print directly to the printer" in the printer's
Properties, Advanced page, but I suspect this won't make much difference.

It is perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
