XP 32bit SP2 Download
I really blew it and now my WIn XP says I must have XP SP2 CD to undo
my screwup. I cannot find it on the MS site. Where can I download SP2 iso? Then I will need SP3 iso. Where is that?? I am on a Win 7 laptop right now. I am on a trip and have no Win XP disks with me. My Win 7 laptop can burn disks but I also need a free iso burner. TIA |

My understanding is that SP2 must be installed before SP3.

As I said it is asking for SP2. DO I just ignore that and use SP3?
I did have SP3 and all updates installed before I hosed it. |

But with the current windows state I am not sure what is installed as I
cannot access anything to tell me. I am just hoping that the power does not glitch until I can respond to the message saying to insert the SP2 CD. |

If so, System Restore might do the trick |

If so, System Restore might do the trick At the time, the option was to use the SP2 CD. I was too scared to do anything else. I knew, by the looks of the almost vacant desktop and the right-click menu that all was lost and doubted that anything I did would make it better but most probably worse. Anyway, long story longer, check my other post and see that i was successful using Macrium and a lot of virtual elbow grease to restore. |

For the (belated) record, you can get SP2 he http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ils.aspx?id=28 and SP3 from he http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ils.aspx?id=24 (although, IIRC, SP3 comes as one of the updates). -- Ian |
