I have been checking this temp and wonder where it emenates from or is
it only a ghost. 1t starts at 35. degrees C at startup and within 10 minutes it climbs to 66 degrees and holds steady . I think it is a false reading from the PSU but am curious. I went over the whole system with an IR none contact thermometer and do not find anything near that high. Any Ideas? Rene |

Rene Forgot to mention mine came with a materials emisivity charts You may have to adjust readings for various materials for accuracy. Rene |

Rene Sounds to me like ordinary CPU temps. Almost the same as mine. 25-35C at startup and idle (depending on ambient) and 66C when busy. If your CPU is newer then the temp sensors are embedded in the cores and you can't IR them. |

Hi Paul No, CPU core temps are normal on all 4 cores running 38 t0 40 deg c as separate readings this is something different, all my other temps are accounted for. I suspect my present PSU does not have this sensor and I am getting a false reading,(I may be wrong) I may be able to tell better when I install my new PSU when they ship it. Rene |

Rene Thank you for the clarification. I Googled for the problem and there is quite a bit on bad readings for Auxtin/etc. As one poster said, if the PSU is at 66C/150F you would burn your fingers if you touch it. |

Well of course, The IR reading will only tell you the surface temperature, Not the true sensor temp, which is higher. It's a good indication, The old finger touch test can also be used as backup. :-) ( except in the PSU) :-( Rene |
