Default Heads up? or just me - wifi weirdness since latest update

The latest cumulative update, yesterday, *may* have
enfarkled the WiFi on my laptop. Usually and forever, WiFi
connects automatically at boot. Since the latest update
I've seen strange behavior. WiFi fails sometimes to
connect automatically and it takes a re-boot to straighten
it out - sometimes more than one. Wired eNet on my other
PC seems fine. Anybody else seeing this behavior?

I don't know, I use Linux. But don't worry, Good Guy will no doubt
straighten you out. He did chastise me for daring to suggest windows has
problems, something he vehemently denies, claiming those who do
experience difficulties are simply stupid.

Sorry, I have no answer; I'm just commiserating with you :-(
I usually use my wired connection, but lately I've been using my laptop in
other areas where wired is not an option. Same settings- pick the name of my
network and the "Connect automatically" box is checked.
I don't have to reboot to connect; just click on Connect and it works fine.
But when I reboot, it's not connected again, even though the settings
haven't changed, and my network is up before the laptop is turned on. Am yet
to figure out how to fix it.

Addendum: I ran the Wifi Troubleshooter and mine connected automatically
after 2 reboots, both times (because once is never enough :-)). I'll see
tomorrow if it still works and post back here.
Go to Settings Network & Internet Wi-Fi, and if you're not connected,
there will be a "Run troubleshooter" button. If you have manually connected
already, on the right side of the page is a "Still can't connect? Open the
troubleshooter" option.

Not on my Toshiba laptop. My wife hasn't complained (yet) about her HP
laptop, either. Sorry.

Did you try a driver roll-back on your Wifi adapter? I've gotten borked
drivers from Windows updates before.

In article , says...
Open the
troubleshooter" option.

The troubleshooter has sometimes claimed to have
found something, claims to have repaired what it
found, but still doesn't connect reliably. I always
wind up re-booting.

I fixed mine by getting the latest update from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
My device is a Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2x2 Wi-Fi Adapter, so I did
a search for it and came up with
http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=Broadcom%20BCM943228HMB%20802.11abgn %202x2%20Wi-Fi%20Adapter.
I used the one dated 12/7/2015 (one of them is good; the other has a bad
hash).

Don't know what your wifi adapter is, but this method may be worth a try.
Just download the .cab and extract it. Right-click on the .inf file and pick
Install. Reboot and see if it works.

I did this three days ago, and have had a few reboots and start-ups since
then, and the wireless has never failed to connect on its own (I'm sure I
just jinxed it; the next time I reboot, it won't work).

Hope this helps. I have tried I don't know how many "fixes" posted on-line,
from disabling hidden devices to Group Policy and Registry editing. This was
the simplest method I tried, and it worked.
