Will private browsing help me.
Is this true:
The only thing private browsing does is keep people who go on your actual, physical computer from seeing the sites you’ve been to… but the rest of the world can see everything. This seems to be their remedy: "Download DoNotTrackMe today. Already have it? Check out our other products for even more online privacy." Any good? I don't specifically want privacy, but I've been told that airlines make a note whether you were quoted a price before, and the second time you ask for a price, they make it a little higher than before. Do you think that is true? If it might be true, I want to keep them from leaving that note/cookie. Do you think DoNotTrackMe woudl do that? It seems it would prevent tracking cookies but does that mean it would keep the very sites which left the cookies from retrieving them later? That's hard to believe. Is there something If not, is it enough to delete all the aairline-name cookies after every time I get a price? |

This seems to be their remedy: "Download DoNotTrackMe today. Already have it? Check out our other products for even more online privacy." who is they and where does one download this product? a search indicates it's from abine. is that it? Any good? could be, and there are many similar to it. I don't specifically want privacy, but I've been told that airlines make a note whether you were quoted a price before, and the second time you ask for a price, they make it a little higher than before. Do you think that is true? sometimes they do, and not just airlines. it depends on many factors. keep in mind that if they do show a higher price, it could potentially cause someone to switch to a competitor, so they don't always do that. it's also possible that the lower priced fare sold out or was pulled from inventory, leaving only higher priced fares. the reverse is also true. a common trick with amazon is to add an item to your cart and leave it there. amazon sees you're interested in the item but didn't buy it yet, so they might lower the price to close the sale. If it might be true, I want to keep them from leaving that note/cookie. Do you think DoNotTrackMe woudl do that? It seems it would prevent tracking cookies but does that mean it would keep the very sites which left the cookies from retrieving them later? That's hard to believe. assuming you mean abine's extension, it won't help with that. there is no need to install anything to block cookies. turn it off in browser preferences. however, that will almost certainly cause problems when buying something. there are also other ways to track people other than cookies, so even if you block them, the various websites still can uniquely identify you. Is there something If not, is it enough to delete all the aairline-name cookies after every time I get a price? if the inventory is still available, it might. if not, then your only hope is for the airline to release additional inventory. |

For that usage, just create an account for guests, and don't give it admin rights. Not only they can see what sites you visit, but every file! -- Cheers, Carlos. |
