Internet only in safe mode
Hi guys, I have an XP professional 32 bit SP 2 installed as a 32 gig partition. I have both IE 7 and Chrome installed and neither are able to connect to the internet from a normal boot. This occurred during the restart from when i was uninstalling an outdated norton 360 and installing avira antivirus in its place. When i boot in safe mode (with networking) i am able to connect to the internet fine. I have checked my connection settings and am not running through a proxy or anything when i do boot in normal mode. I am also confident it is not malware related as i have, upon discovering this error checked for malware using my antivirus (avira) and have had the logs of a number of spyware related programs reviewed. When i try to connect to the internet the diagnostic error message indicates it is unable to locate ftp https and http protocols. I have also tried connecting with antivirus and firewall disabled but that did not work. I am at a loss of what to do at this point so any help you may be able to provide will be greatly appreciated. |
