Default XP and HP Printer

Hi Michael,

What if anything do you know about HP printers+WindowsXP
not printing images in the MS Plus for XP CD Label Maker
A4 Templates? (specifically Photo Smart 7150) Instead of
the chosen image, the area in the template where I've
chosen to insert the image is completly filled in with
black ink. I've even tried removing the black ink
cartridge to no avail. I've called HP several times and
they claim to have never heard of this issue, but
according to this newsgroup (In the Plus section) there
are several posts with this same issue. I've also called
Dell because they are supposed to support this software
since I purchased it with the computer. They have no
idea either and I don't expect them to.

Any insight you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!!

1. Make sure that you have the XP driver for the
printer. XP will not recognize many of the HP drivers
that were not specifically made for XP
2. Totally remove the old driver. If the uninstaller
does not work, you will have to find the old INI file fo
the old driver and remove it.
3. Install the new driver -- if the install crashes and
you get a message that you have to remove the old driver
first, then you have to obtain help to do REGEDIT.

After upgrading from XP Home to XP Professional Windows
will not recognize my HP Officejet printer. I
uninstalled and reinstalled the HP software and

drivers,
which are the latest by the way, and Windows will not
even recognize the printer as a plug and play device.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Steve
