Default Windows XP SP2 unable to access NT 4 User Manger

I have a brand new HP Compaq D530 P4 3 GHz w/ 512 MB RAM.

I have recently installed Windows XP SP2 on my machine
and ever since doing so I have been unable to access the
User Manager and Server Manager for our Windows NT 4
Domain Controller.

I receive a system crash message when I try to access the
Server Manager, but I am able to open the User Manager,
but when I try to edit a user it gives me the
message: "The following error occurred accessing the
properties of username. The specified procedure could not
be found" The user properties cannot be edited or viewed
at this time."

I was able to access the user manager before SP2. I have
also tested this on another machine, trying to access it
before SP2 with success and after installing SP2 without.

I have turned off the Windows Firewall and am still
having this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you accessing it via a network shortcut? Try copying the USRMGR
executables (and the files that go with it) to your hard drive and running
it from there. I've seen that solution at a few places online and
apparently it works, for some mystical reason.

Thank you, this worked. It was a network shortcut from
the server. Once I copied these files over it worked
great. This is certainly a mystery.

Thanks,
Josh
