Default Windows Messenger data backup

Hello!

As I got to know data backup was more and more an
issue in case something was happen to the hard disc.

I have been using Widows Messenger lately and wonder
how to backup relevant data. Not conversations, I
found the entries to click on, but like email addresses
and settings, and, how to restore them on an other
comp.or hard drive.

Thank you,
Steve

Default Windows Messenger data backup

Hello,

as far as I know, the contacts (do you mean that?) are stored on the servers
and don't need to be saved separately.
Of course, under Live Messenger, I would like to have an option to save my
settings too, but as you can see, there are not that many settings you could
save, so a new set-up would only last five mins. Your custom emoticons can
be backed up with this tool: http://www.baisoft.it/msnbackup_english.asp
With Messenger Plus!, you can export and save your Plus! settings (but not
the normal ones), because there are so many options (e.g. the short texts).

Greetings,

So, Is MS going to acquire one of these companies to be able to add backing
up of their own product?

:P
