Today dropped my laptop on floor but it still works
This morning I was opening my laptop to check emails, it slipped and hit the
floor. Solved enchasing the plastic piece from corner with scotch tape. I'm a little sad but machine still works. Wonder if I become a big novel writer and have a great life to do whatever I want? Maybe next year I'll buy a new laptop with windows 8.1. |

If you have saved the pieces you may make it almost new with one the new glues like Crazy Glue, or a similar product from another vendor. |

My laptop slid off a small pile of blankets and hit the floor, I saw no damage. A few months later I'm opening it up to change the fan and find the bracket for one of the hinge screws shattered. Probably why the fan stopped, pieces in the fan?! maybe!. Fixed with epoxy. All well and good. |

I dropped a 78 RPM record on the floor and it shattered into many many pieces. |

Hope in my case nothing's wrong inside. I must take more care with my power
tool. Later after shut down I'll shake it to see if there is any loose parts inside. shadow said on 3/31/2014 5:44 PM: This morning I was opening my laptop to check emails, it slipped and hit the floor. Unless it was a rare, irreplaceable record, it was much less valuable than a laptop. Why was it "considerably worse"? |

Even though the 78 record was not a valuable collector's item...it was irretrievably destroyed. The laptop suffered minor damage and the piece can be glued back. In the case of the record, there is no way it could have been glued back together. (I was demonstrating relativity and levity.) |

As a kid I think I broke at least one, and they were quite brittle. Not at all as easy to live with as vinyl. Paul |

The one I broke was not a collector's item but it did have a lot of sentimental value as it was my grandmother's . |

It's too soon to be sure of that. And even if it's only minor damage, I'd rather have total destruction to a record worth a couple of dollars or so than minor damage to a laptop worth several hundred dollars, If nothing else, the resale value of the laptop has gone down substantially. In the case of the record, there is no way it could have been glued back together. (I was demonstrating relativity and levity.) OK, I'll accept the levity part. g |

They predate the vinyl used in 33 RPM recordings. Mostly. I remember a vinyl 33rpm record or two. |

Holding both sides and tipping horizontal, vertical, or rotating the device might provide benefit without compounding an existing problem. -- ...winston msft mvp consumer apps |
