Default "CPU" error message

Two things to check:

1. Power supply
2. Adequate cooling of your CPU

-----Original Message-----
At each boot-up I receive this error message: "CPU is
unworkable or has been changed. Please recheck - CPU
Soft Menu". One day it's working fine, the next day I'm
receiving this message.

I'm asked to do one of two choices: (1) Hit F1 to
continue or DEL to go into set-up. I choose F1 to get to
my desk top.

My question is: What do I need to do to avoid this
question each time I try to access my desk top for boot-
up? I'm using Windows XP, have a P4 2.6g processor.

Thanks in advance,
Jim
.
