RAM upgrade
Last year I upgraded the RAM on my ASUS A7V8X motherboard from 512mb
to 1Gb by adding an extra 512mb memory module. I assumed that the upgrade was successful because Systems Information tells me that I have 1024 Mb of Total Physical Memory. CPU-Z confirms that I have 1024 mb installed - PC2700(166Mhz) as two modules in slots 2 & 3 However, Windows Task Manager indicates that I have 523808k installed How can I be certain that the upgrade was OK - the whole aim was to attempt to improve computer performance. (I know I need to build a better computer, but this one serves me reasonably well) |

Available switch options for the Windows XP and the Windows Server 2003 Boot.ini files http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833721 Look to see if there is a /maxmem=number If so delete the /maxmem=xxxxxx part -- JS http://www.pagestart.com |
