QED: Do you use a Microsoft wireless pointing device or keyboard on a
Windows-based computer and was the screen saver not working? ThnkMn wrote: I renamed c:\windows\system\drivers\wdf01000.sys Then I opened explorer and selected Windows Update from the Tools menu. It installed fine. |

KD911895 Update will not install
Hi and thankyou for your posting i have been trying to install this update
for days and failing, after reading hear and reading your solution i have finally managed to install the update many thanks. "Harry Johnston [MVP]" wrote: For future reference, Jonathan tells me that Microsoft online support were (eventually) able to resolve his problem, by removing wdf01000.sys from the drivers folder. At this point the update installed successfully via WU. Harry. jonathan wrote: I'm sorry this reply took so long--the site has been down. There is no apparent way to attach screen shots to this reply. Could you clarify what you mean by "copy/move utility"? If you're not sure howbest to describe it, you can attach a screenshot. TERACOPY 2.01 Right-click on the file and select Properties, and tell me what it says under "Type of file". CAB FILE My Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 is not on the list of problem devices in "Article ID: 911895 - Last Review: November 29, 2007 - Revision: 11.4 The screen saver does not work when you use a Microsoft wireless pointing device on a Windows Vista-based computer" and I have a WindowsXP Home SP3 based computer, but the software for the mouse is Intellipoint 6.1 which is on the list. Since I have had no problems using the mouse or any of the problem issues I have found linked to this download at this time it seems clear I should not try to install it. Thanks for your help in leading me to this realization. |

KD911895 Update will not install
I have a similar problem. However, after I run the last update installation
which I can really say it was KB911895 because i couldn't find it on the history. My PC is not booting up. I have to do it on safe mode. When i go to Device Manager i found under HID Human Interface Device a problem. On this devive it shows the HID Non-User Input data filter (kb911895). I assume is the installation the it didn't get through. I followed the previous instructions and I went to Windows\system32\drives and I deleted the file WDF01000.SYS. I went to update and it was not found it on the list of updated needed. However, if I uninstall this device and reboot my PC it works but the problem shows up again on the next rebooting. Anyone knows wo to fix this? By the way my OS system is XP3. -- pompocho "Gerry" wrote: Hank Select Start, Help and Support, Keep your Windows up- to-date with Windows Update, Review your Update History you can see the update.
