My recent documents on Start Menu reads "empty" even though My Recent
Documents folder has several shortcuts to documents recently accessed AND even though the box is checked on the Start Menu properties dialog to have the My recent documents listed. Leonard |

I would take a look at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\RecentDocs\Folder in regedt32. Perhaps you have some corrupt values. -- Was this post helpful to you? when you doubleclick a value, (e.g "1"), and look at the data, you see the
shortcut name. It varies by user. Deleting all would simply rebuild the MUI (most recently used) data, as you created it. -- Was this post helpful to you? Mark, what values would those be? Please explain a lil more in detail. Thanks Professor Joe I looked at the registry path indicated by Mark. I have the entire path and values within it; but I do not know if they are the correct values. "Folder" has 8 file extensions listed within it and the last name under "Folder" is MRUListEx I have suspected that something is wrong with the registry. I would be grateful if someone knowledgeable about the registry would assist me in this matter. Thank you, Leonard |

(Keys, left, | Values, right)
I would delete all Values, everywhere, and all shortcuts in the recent docs folder, and restart. You could "Export" a reg file that would save all the current stuff, if you like, and run the reg file to restore all that deleted stuff, if you had trouble. (Highlight a Key, File menu, Export.) In any case, my attitude is, 'You can't break what don't work' -- Was this post helpful to you? Voting helps others who use the web interface. Mark L. Hello,
Try clearing your recent list and running this registry fix from this site http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm (line 55, left column) -- Singapore Website Design http://www.bootstrike.com/Webdesign/ Singapore Web Hosting http://www.bootstrike.com/WinXP/faq.html Windows XP FAQ "Leonard Cornelius" wrote in message ink.net... Leonard The problem seems to be that the Start Menu will not SHOW the shortcuts in the Recent Docs folder. Is there a particular registry entry that controls the function to show these shortcuts or hide them? Leonard |
