Default windows XP messenger

I am having problems in connecting with the Windows XP
messenger. When I am connected to another party using Road
Runner (Time Warner Cable service), I can see and hear the
other person, but the other person can not see or hear me
(although writing in the chat box is possible,
bilaterally). If I substitute plain phone line for the
fast-access cable and use the dial-up moden, the
connection is established for both sides, although with
several interruptions because the phone line is not fast
enough. I have already turn off the antivirus program as
suggested by Time Warner, but it did not help. Does
anybody have an idea of this problem.

Sincerely,

Raul

I would suspect a Router, or a NAT modem or such. Road Runner has caused a
lot of people trouble, my opinion only. I have always had problems
connecting to people who have Road Runner. However, this is more probably a
Router or such. So, post exactly how you are connected along with your
internal configuration. Also, go to www.meetingbywire.com and read the XP
portion.
