windows XP messenger
I am having problems in connecting with the Windows XP
messenger. When I am connected to another party using Road Runner (Time Warner Cable service), I can see and hear the other person, but the other person can not see or hear me (although writing in the chat box is possible, bilaterally). If I substitute plain phone line for the fast-access cable and use the dial-up moden, the connection is established for both sides, although with several interruptions because the phone line is not fast enough. I have already turn off the antivirus program as suggested by Time Warner, but it did not help. Does anybody have an idea of this problem. Sincerely, Raul |

I would suspect a Router, or a NAT modem or such. Road Runner has caused a
lot of people trouble, my opinion only. I have always had problems connecting to people who have Road Runner. However, this is more probably a Router or such. So, post exactly how you are connected along with your internal configuration. Also, go to www.meetingbywire.com and read the XP portion. Joel "Raul C. Ribeiro" wrote in message ...
