What happens when you try? What specific error messages do you get?
What specific troubleshooting steps have you already taken, and what
were the results of each? In what specific file format are the
documents saved? What specific email client software are you using?

I'm afraid that no one can help if you don't provide at least a
modicum of pertinent information.

up. When trying to shut down the computer I get an ERROR Message that says
sometihing like ntbackup is running. Then I need to end that before I can
shut down. The ntbackup might not be quite right.

Sorry to be so vage I am new at this.

Are there any other Warning or Error reports in the System or
Application logs in Event Viewer during the last 48 hours?

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.

Under Application there does not seem to be much.

All errors need to be eliminated. If they are not resolved it can be
difficult to see what is really going on.

I cannot help without complete copies of Warning and Error reports.
