Black is normal, blue is compressed and green is encrypted.
WinXP automatically compresses files that do not get used frequently. You can alter this if desired in Windows Explorer-Tools-Folder Options-View - "Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color" ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP Windows - Internet Explorer http://dts-l.org/index.htm On Wed, 3 Oct 2007 20:33:00 -0700, in microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support, Karen wrote: Ok, so I have some files that are in blue and some that are in black.
