"welcome"
Today, after switching on the laptop, I entered the password and after a
wile I got the usual message "welcome". After that I had to wait, and wait and w anait. I went to the kichen to make some coffee and after 15 minutes I came back and there was still no change. Decided to reboot with ctrl-alt-del but nothing happened. I had to reboot with the switch. What the heck? -- |\ /| | \/ |@rk \../ \/os |

What the heck? Hi Linea, pull out the power cord. flip it over and remove the battery for five minutes. re-assemble and plug it back in. give it a whirl and let us know how it works out. -T |

(was asked wether to start Windows normally or safe mode and I chose normally) I always use the laptop on a mains adapter and without battery. Thought I'd mention the issue. Issue doesn't happen often, however this wasn't the first time... -- |\ /| | \/ |@rk \../ \/os |

Unless it's regularly and often, you might as well ignore it. You might search the Event Viewer for possible clues if you suspect a real, persistent problem. |

What the heck? Look in the Add/Remove Programs applet to see if something just got installed. Look in Event Viewer to check for any problems at the time you booted. Start reviewing your list of startup programs. |
