Default IBM thinkpad

Hi

I have an IBM ThinkPad which is compatible with Windows
XP, but I was wondering if the same procedures as
formatting my home computer be the same as my laptop
especially an IBM? I'm not too familiar with laptops or
IBM's so I'm not sure if I need to do something different?

I do have backup drivers if Xp can't recognize them for
some reason. But other than that I would like to format
my laptop and of course partition the hard drive into
2.

Thank you very much

Jenna
