Default Windows Messenger 5 Problem

Whenever I try to run Adobe Acrobat Reader (and other
things) a Windows Messenger Instalation box comes up. After
a few seconds, it gives me an error message: "An error
occured during the installstion of assembly component (hex
code)". Then, it cancels out, and runs again. The only way
to fully terminate it is to close the process through
Ctrl+Alt+Del.

I downloaded the installer and tried to repair it, but it
comes to the same error.

What should I do to fix it or remove it?

Greetings,

To correct this, click Start,then Run, and type the following:
msiexec /x {1F0BD960-6525-4FEE-B577-2473F77F1277}
then click OK.

Note: if you're using Windows Messenger 5.1, use this one:
msiexec /x {C3A6819F-62D3-4750-AF1C-28206DDF2C2E}

Then, after uninstallation, reinstall Windows Messenger 5.x from:
http://microsoft.com/downloads/detai...f-9157a3b3d774

I had this same problem but when I try to uninstall it still says that I
cannot uninstall a program that is not installed so obviously, I don't have
it installed. Still, it says that there is a problem with messenger[2].msi?
Syas something about a network resource being unavailable, it asks for me to
type in alternate path for the installation package. If I use the suggested
Temporary internet files it says it cannot be found. I'm using XP home. I
need help thanks

trying to use Windows Installer an error comes up reading:
A network error occured while attempting to read from the file:C:\Documents

Then it cancels my installation. I am deperate for help, since I can't
