already installed windows blinds (a program to make PC pretty and =

Yes I found out the same thing at work this afternoon, though there =

the
file
is deleted when word is stopped and the funny thing is that Word is =

not in
my Windows startup at home, though it's installed on my System. I =

guess
some
component that is invoked at startup must be causing this.. weird.. =

The
file
is being created even though Word is not run, must be some office

component.
Is there a decent utility that will allow me to view file locks on =

XP.

Kees Spierings

If ~dft????.tmp, it is created by Word.

I like to keep my temporary folders clean and clear them
regularly, lately there's 1 file I can't seem to delete
and of which 1 is added on each reboot. It's in local
settings\temp and looks like this ~df????.tmp (the ?'s
are single character wildcards). Could somebody tell me
what these are, or how I can find out which program is
maintaining a lock on this file?

Regards,
Kees Spierings

Turn off NView in NView in Control Panel. It is absolutely a crime this =
virus is tacked on to drivers. We want drivers not childish windows =
blinds type programs. If we wanted childish programs we would have =
already installed windows blinds (a program to make PC pretty and =

I used the tool you recommended and found out it's nvidia's nview =

software
that is causing the problem, so there isn't much I can do about it, so =

I'll
guess I'll make a little script that cleans up the tmp file(s) at =

startup.
Thanks for the tip though.

It should only have what's needed for the card. Not transparent menus or =
silly hotkeys. Are they a utility company making the computer program =
equivelent of stupid cheap plastic toys or a video hardware mfg.
