"Lost" Show Desktop Icon
Not entirely sure this is what you want, but to make the
defualt profile contain the desklink icon, go into one of the existing profiles that still has it and copy it to the quick launch folder, or if it's only for a specific user copy it to that user instead. furthermore show desktop is NOT a link, it's a script. your administrator's profile will have the file he C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\show desktop copy the file to here for a specific user: C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch or to here to include it in the default profile: C:\Documents and Settings\default user\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch as far as I am aware you can't put it in "All Users" and expect it to work. hope that helps. Ben -----Original Message----- Am running XP Home Edition. Some how in customizing Windows Icons, I've lost, corrupted, or change the Show Desktop Icon for Quick Launch. I have that is part of an IconPackager by Stardock. I have to manually apply it every time. I have accidentally replace the DESKLINK file with another. How do I restore both without having to run Repair XP from the installation disk? Kelly sent me a vbs file for the Show Desktop icon and it's in the system32 folder but how do I link it so it will load when I apply the XP default icons? Please pardon the file attachments. Hopefully you can see what I'm talking about. Thx! Barb aka SpicyGirl |

Thanks, I will try this tomorrow, as it's getting late here and we are
having thunder storms. Will let you know if that works. Barb aka SpicyGirl "Ben Personick" wrote in message ...
