Default Compatablity question

I've got Windows '98 and I am going to upgrade to Windows
XP and have got a printer but I am not sure whether it
supports Windows XP.

The printer is a Canon BJC-4300.
I've looked on the Windows Catalog site but can't see it
there.

If you can tell me this would be of great help.

Go to http://consumer.usa.canon.com/index.shtml and see what they
have. The BJC-4300 is listed among the Canon printers for which
drivers are included on the Windows CD. The Windows XP driver may
not have all the functionality of the Windows 98 drivers. Printer
manufacturers have to pay Microsoft to do Windows Logo testing of
the drivers. To save money they keep it simple.

The XP drivers for this printer are at the Canon website at
http://tinyurl.com/8haj

It's the third file down on this page.

Disconnect the printer from the PC BEFORE commencing the upgrade and
uninstall any Canon software from the Add/Remove Programs in the Control
Panel.

Once the upgrade has completed, then run the software from the Canon
website... and only connect the printer when it tells you to do so.
