Default Power Meter and volume Control in Task Bar

I cannot get the power meter and volume control to stay in the task bar. I
check it to appear in the task bar, it does and then when I restart they
disappear. Any suggestions?

In control panel---sounds and audio devices do you have a check in "volume
control in task bar"?
What is 'power meter'?

it's likely you want the
icons to show up in the
notification area.

unfortunately, xp has its
bugs and you are
experiencing one of them.

my power meter icon
is wishy washy for showing
up.

so I simply created
shortcuts to those ctrl
panels and placed them
in the quick launch bar
for easy execution.
