Computer too long to detect the Windows Firewall
I have Windows XP Professional SP3, with Micorosft Security Essentials as the
Antivirus When I start/restart my computer, it takes too long (2 to 3 mins) to detect firewall is ON. At the end of 3 mins it displays No firewall turned on message for a 1 sec and disappers. Until it detects the firewall, it doesn't connect to LAN/Internet. I don't know what the computer does during this 3 mins delay. When I checked in the Event Viewer, I found that Windows Security Center Service is taking too long to start. How can I make the Windows Security Center Service to start fast ? How to fix this issue, so that it detects the Anitvirus/Firewall fast and connects to LAN/Internet fast ? -- Regards, Karbi |

Is there an Event ID showing in the Application event log or the System event log ? It will show under the 'Event' listings for that specific event. This issue may be a residual effect from having another antivirus/security suite installed previously and when it was uninstalled, left some remnants on the system. *What* was installed previously and have you run a clean up or removal tool for it yet ?
