Default Microsoft Sidewinder Plug & Play

I have a Microsoft Sidewinder Plug & Play and on the
website it says that it's compatible with Windows XP, but
for a long time I couldn't get my computer to recognize
it. Then today I tried again, and my computer finally
recognized it...for like 5 minutes...now I can't get my
computer to recognize it again.

Can anyone help? I could use any suggestions.

Thanks,
Allie

If you go to the Control Panel, and click on Game Controllers.... what does
XP say about the device... does it not install the drivers if you select
AutoDetect?
