Default USB Generic Volume problem =P

Just now, I was trying to put .mp3s onto my "Motorola SLVR L7", but it seems
that I get:

"The device 'Generic volume' cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the
device again later"

I dont know how to fix this. The only thing that works is if I restart my
computer, but all the files I put on my phone are deleted, or I delete all
the song files off and try to remove it again, and it works, but not all the
time.

Any tips that might help me stop this problem?

Thx
