Default COM port problem

I have win XP Prof. + SP 2 installed on my P4 3 GHz PC, having one COM prot
and an external modem (D-link) is connected to it.

I have installed WinFax Pro for faxing and on configuraing this It gives
error tahat COM1 port is in used by another application.

I tried to find out whihc application is using COM prot but could not find it.

Can any one help me how to check that who is using COM prot.

Thanks

Your modem has use of the COMM port for Internet data
transmission. The FAX is a different service protocol.

I checked and am sure that MODEM is not assigned for any work other than
sendign and receiving FAX.

I was having this modem set to reply Incoming connection but have removed it
already.
