Default dvd playback problem

i have just fitted a new dvd drive sony dvd rw aw-g170 ,when i play a dvd the
drive fires up but keeps going all through the disc making a noise as it
spins round making it impossible to hear the dvd , however if i burn a new
disc on nero and play it back it works fine without the noise and will also
play any other dvd ok. then if i turn off my pc and restart later i am back
to the same problem until i burn another disc

The Drive may be defective. Return it for another one.
