hotfix 811493 looking for a copy !!
It is on Windows Update still.
It is now under Recommended Updates instead of Critical updates. You can also get it from the Windows Catalog: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=323166 The original hotfix has not been changed. When there is a change, there will be mention of the change he http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;819634 -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] An easier way to read newsgroup messages: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p...oups/setup.asp Please respond to newsgroup only for everyone's benefit. wrote in message ... hotfix 811493 has anyone got a copy of the original bad hot fix- I wanted to install it and do a complete uninstall. |

I've seen many an update on Microsoft's site who's status is still set to "we are looking at the issue and will release an update soon"! I'm starting to think that Microsoft have decided to leave it as it is. |

Many of the KBs that end with "being investigated" seem to have never been updated to reflect fixes in the next service pack. |
