System Stopped Working
I am running Windows XP. I was prompted to install Service Pack 3 After
downloading it, the system froze and after several hours, I turned the computer off and then restarted it. I received the message "LSASS.exe Application Error The application Failed to Initialize Properly (0xc0000005) Click to Terminate" Windows will not start and I also receive this message when I try to start in safe mode. I tried all of the safe mode options (including last known good settings) to no avail. I have put in the installation disc in and it does nothing. Any help in getting past this or suggestions about how i might recover the information that was stored would be appreciated. |

System Stopped Working
Unless you haven't used your computer since April of 2008, you've been
prompted to install Service Pack 3 every time you've started your computer. Uninstall Service Pack 3; restart your computer; then follow these instructions: "Steps to take before you install Windows XP Service Pack 3" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950717 --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est Karl M wrote: I am running Windows XP.
