Smile CD Drives do not play original dicks

I have 2 CD drives in my computer, one is a writer, the problem is that when i insert an original cd it will not play, instead i get a message mentioning something about "32 bit something", but if i insert a copy of a disc it will play. I am running XP, The originals are a little old "pre XP", But the copies were done on a XP machine, Please can anyone help

Default Floppy drive not recognised in start-up

Try Start, Run, CMD.
