Default DVD-Ram Drive

Hi Guys & Gals
Hope someone can shed some lite on this for me.
I installed a new DVD drive , model HPDVD writer-840d. (litescribe model)
In My Computer and windows explorer it is listed as a DVD-Ram drive .
What isthe difference between a DVD-Ram drive and a DVD-RW drive.
It all works ok,but wondering why it is called a ram drive.
Thanks all

Carl:
Because it also includes DVD-RAM capability in addition to all the other DVD
formats it supports. Do a Google search on "dvd-ram" for details.
