Default keyfinder without junkware?

Hi All,

I just installed Magik Jelly Bean keyfinder on a customer's
computer. I like it because I can copy and paste the
information off it.

I don't like it because I have to unuinstall that IDIOT AVG
Toolbar.

Anyone have a favorite keyfinder WITHOUT THE S***Ware?

Many thanks,
-T

You should really slow down and read the prompts when you install
software. The Open Candy offerings are easy to avoid if you just pay
attention.

1+ on the slow down and 1+ on the sneakier. :'(

To get rid of the S***Ware on Jelly Beans Keyfinder,
you have to run "Custom" install. Run "Typical"
and you will say some words not so kind.

S***Ware is truly getting sneakier.

Hi Leala,

Great Copy and Paste features. You can run it straight
from it zip file without having to install it. And, no
junkware! I love it. Thank you!

And you can load from another hive!

/windir [Windows Directory]

Load product key information from another operating system
on the same computer. The [Windows Directory] specifies
the base folder of Windows installation, for example:
c:\windows, c:\winnt

To avoid crapware you must run "Custom" install on EVERYTHING you add
to your PC, NEVER EVER select the "Typical" or "Normal" install.

Spoke too soon didn't I ? My lady just got caught out with a PC full of
S**tWare. Sigh .....! :-(

Me thinks a revolution is in order. Meet me down the pub and we'll plot
some revenge. It shouldn't take more than two or three stiff scotch's.
My shout. :-)

Hi Speed,

What transpires is that those web sites sport S***Ware get
paid by the S***Ware producers every time some one downloads
the S***. So, why get paid for one piece of S***Ware when
you can get paid for TWENTY! I call it a S***WARE BOMB.
Sounds like your Lady set one off by accident.

When I find a customer that had a S***Ware bomb go off,
their computer is next to unusable. (I try not to
laugh, but don't always succeed.)

Probably a good thing I didn't laugh, I wouldn't be here to tell the tale.
Somehow she ended up with four pieces of ****e that kept invasively
redirecting, or asking her to do surveys, or popping up special offers
etc ...

Managed to clean the bugs out after a couple of hours scanning. So far,
so good.

It's been that way, ^^^^^^ ,for 10 years now. When I was still supporting
family and friends, I used to insist they ALWAYS choose a custom install
whenever they install anything.

Hi MachSpeed,

These two are invaluable for ****ewa

-T

p.s. "****e" is British for "Golly"? Correct?

"****e" is a sorta polite Aussie way of saying "****" :-)

Is it as long as that! I must be getting old. I _do_ remember when the
default install was just that (-:!

I take it you no longer support family and friends!
