Windows XP Pro will not install
Attempting a clean install of XP Pro. Half way through, it's looking for file "asms".
The file is on the disk but will not install. Is there any way to copy the file to a floppy? Thanks |

Thanks Problems copying files or corrupted files during installation are most often caused by defective, incompatible, or sub-standard hardware (probably the same defective component that caused the crash in the first place); in order of likelihood, either RAM, the hard drive, or the motherboard. On very rare occasions the CD drive or installation CD is the problem. -- Bruce Chambers Help us help you: http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. -Benjamin Franklin Many people would rather die than think; in fact, most do. -Bertrum Russell |
