DSL internet connection hanging/freezing.

So I tried this:

I even disabled the NIC I wasn't using, but no luck. My internet connection
would still intermittently freeze.

So, I surfed over to http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_starttrack.htm ,
ran the program and
searched for "DHCP". To my amazement, the DHCP client was still listed as
running on startup!

I then went to computer management (My Computer Right Click) and disabled it
there.

So far so good :-0
