Whenever my pc (XP Home) hibernates the LAN disconnects
and effects my home network. How do I remediate this?

Turn off hibernation in your power saving settings.

Bob,

If he wants to hibernate to save power, couldn't he
simply uncheck the box in the NIC configuration that
says "Allow the computer to turn this device off to save
power" or will hibernation still turn it off?

Just Curious.

Hibernating shuts down the PC, thereby shutting down all cards.
