parsing error
This morning I tried to remove an unwanted program; I received a "Fatal
Error" message, something about 'parsing error.' I don't know what that means. I don't know how to remove the program if "add/remove" won't do it. My knowledge of a computer and its works is very basic. Can someone explain: parsing, parsing error, how to get rid of the program easily (and please don't suggest that I visit the Geek squad; those people know less than I do) Thanks |

parsing error
A parsing error is saying that some command line running automatically in
your system is not a correct 'syntax' (or 'right way to say something') Although it is a bit hard to use, this app will let you go thru all the apps running automatically in your system, and remove those things you recognize as the parts of that thing you took out that still trying to run. AutoRuns for Windows v8.61: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sys.../Autoruns.mspx There are other utilities that also do this, and you might try one of those, if you don't like Autoruns, but something like this will solve the relic parsing error. -- Was this post helpful to you? I downloaded Autoruns. Remember up above when I mentioned that I know very
little about a computer? I don't know what to take out and what to leave in. Some of those things I've never seen before. I'm afraid to do anything for fear I'll do it wrong and then the computer will be screwed up worse than before. Is there anything more simple? Bud "Mark L. OK, I did the clean up; thought I had done it before but had not; disabled
"not verified" items, except those added by Microsoft; removed something from "PopCap," one of whose games is what I cannot remove. I am free of malware and viruses. see anything that looks like it's from PopCap. Don't see anything that looks like it shouldn't be there. Pressing F8 must be done at the correct moment, a thing not easy on some
systems. If you run MSCONFIG you get a checkbox that elects to start in safe mode. Of course, you uncheck that later to start normally -- Was this post helpful to you?
