Depending on the rules of the IPS providing the e-mail service, there are several ways she could do it. Such as: As you can see I use the Underscore character "_" in my e-mail address. The only problem I have with it is it some times get lost when the e-mail address is underlined. |

Check their help to see if they support aliases. If they don't, have her open a new account with her other name (if still available at the same domain), and enable auto-forwarding from it to the other account. However, some e-mail providers require a login now and then to show the account is still active. In that case, have the primary account poll the secondary account. The primary account will be logging into the secondary account to pull the e-mails from the secondary account. Again, depends on the e-mail provider as to what they require for logins and what features they have. |

There's the address, such as . You could certainly have . But then there's also the display name. Maybe you mean that? Display name is what people see when they read the email. It's typically what shows in the From column. might show as an email from "Mary", "Mary Smith", "Smith Accounting", etc. You can use whatever you like. It's set in your email program. So if you mean the display name she certainly could change that to something like "Mary [Ruth]". |

It depends on the email service she uses. For example, outlook.com and gmail let you use aliases. These are variations on the first part of the address, all of which go to the same primary email address. You need to read the info on each of their websites for details of what exactly you can do. |

Still depends what you/she means lets assume that she has the address and it displays as "Sue Ward then she can change the display name to Susan Ward but if she wants to change the actual email address to she probably needs to register another account, google are not very good (and not even as good as the used to be) about allowing "send as" addresses, they make it very obvious that it isn't the actual address ... probably necessary from google's PoV as pam prevention. I've never had companies and banks give a toss what my email address is compared to my actual name, and I do use a different "everyday" name to what officialdom knows me by. |

In principle yes, dependant on the email client that she uses. Thunderbird for instance offers the option to use different 'identities' with each email account. |

She can use whatever name she wants because there is no requirement to produce a passport or some other ID to create an eMail. Why don't you learn how to ask a proper question that people can understand what exactly you are trying to do. Did you know that in Thunderbird you can create different identities? Probably not as not many people here would know about it because of their lack of curiosity of knowing new things in life. -- With over 1.2 billion devices now running Windows 10, customer satisfaction is higher than any previous version of windows. |

So if you mean the display name she certainly could change that to something like "Mary [Ruth]". Basically the display name The "Display name" is what appears in the From header to the recipient. You did not mention which e-mail client she is using. Some let you define what is the Display name (in the From header). She defines multiple accounts within the e-mail client but each connects to the same online account. That is, she defines, say, 2 accounts in the unidentified e-mail client. Both accounts target or connect to the same account up on the server; i.e., each local account uses the same login to the same online account on the mail server. In each local account, specify whatever she wants as the Display name. When she sends an e-mail, she selects through which local account in her e-mail client to send a message through the same online account, and the local account specifies the Display name. Some e-mail clients let you create multiple profiles. Define one with one Display name and another profile with a different Display name. Select which profile to use when sending an e-mail. |
