Default PartitionMagic 8.0, Windows XP and Error 11019

First, thanks to everyone who has taken time to e-mail me about Error #11019
that occurs when trying to run PartitionMagic 8.0 under XP Pro (w/SP1) on
the Master disk drive. This may be happening on other systems, but this is
the only configuration I'm aware of currently. The general concensus is
that no one really was sure what this error meant, or whether it originated
from PartitionMagic or Windows.

Well, I did hear from PowerQuest today (a fast response to my e-mail last
night) and I though I'd pass along what they e-mailed me. Below is the
content of that e-mail.

There is no permanent fix for this error, which has to do with gaining
access to the boot record; however, you would be able to work around the
issue by booting the rescue diskettes and running the program from within
that environment.

If anyone figures out a way around this problem WITHOUT having to run
PartitionMagic from a rescue disk environment, I'd appreciate hearing from
you.

I would always run PM from the floppies rather than from inside Windows.
There are just too many things that can, and do, go wrong within XP. I have
been using PM for many years over several operating systems and have never
had any problems when running it from the floppies.
