Magical mystery message
When I boot my machine, I get a dialog with the title "Internet Explorer cannot
display the webpage". No hint of what program or webpage it's referring to. I'm using Avast free AV, and Spybot SD Resident. In Startup are 2 Hewlett-Packard shortcuts, pointing to "C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\bin\hpobnz08.exe" and "C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\bin\hpotdd01.exe", a Microsoft Office shortcut pointing to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE" -b -l and a Logitech one pointing to "C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint\SetPoint.exe". Event viewer(Application) has 2 warnings. I don't have a FAX modem, so I don't know why this would even be checked. Fax Service failed to initialize any assigned fax devices (virtual or TAPI). No faxes can be sent or received until a fax device is installed. The outgoing routing rule is not valid because it cannot find a valid device. The outgoing faxes that use this rule will not be routed. Verify that the targeted device or devices (if routed to a group of devices) is connected and installed correctly, and turned on. If routed to a group, verify that the group is configured correctly. Country/region code: '*' Area code: '*' How can I identify the source of this message, so I can deal with it? Thanks, Mike The content of the dialog is: This program cannot display the webpage Most likely causes: You are not connected to the Internet. The website is encountering problems.
