Corrupt User Profile
I'm getting an error in the event log that says,
The configuration registry database is corrupt. for C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\ \UsrClass.dat So I created a new user and copied files from C:\Users\USERNAME\ to C:\Users\NEWUSERNAME\ as per http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...#1TC=windows-7 Now (after rebooting and verifying the new user), should I delete C:\Users\USERNAME\? |

Can I then create a new account using the same username as the one that was just deleted? Thanks. |

I remember an old conversation in Redmond during the Vista/Win7 beta era that if deleting a profile, reboot twice after doing so. I'm not aware of any constraint about recreating a profile with the same 'deleted profile' username. Just curios, since you asked in the Win8 group...was the original profile a MSFT account profile ? -- ....winston msft mvp consumer apps |

My OneDrive is empty. It might be worth a look to see how Win8x is configured...not everything in Win8x is defaulted to 'off' If you're alluding to my not being sure about using OneDrive or not, I guess I must have disabled it at some point. But "look to see how Win8x is configured" sounds like a week-long chore. Did you have some specific things in mind? Thanks. |
